🇱🇦A truly memorable Christmas on the banks of the Mekhong 20km down river from Luang Prabang. Christmas lunch was an affogato at the local buffalo farm! (Only eatery in the area / had a delish simple meal in the evening) no problem because I’m saving all my calories for Luang Prabang 💃😋

🏝️ Five days later, we finally saw the sun yesterday! The day before was max sogginess. Everything was saturated including our clothes, almost over it but no budget to say ‘F*** it let’s abandon shop and go somewhere else’, we were rewarded with a glorious afternoon on the beach. More to follow on that.

24 hours in Pune.. finally met Shreeya who I’ve been working with for 5 years! Her whole family took me onboard for the day, they laid on a delicious Goan chicken curry lunch, fabric shopping, followed by a wonderful museum visit, ending up with bhel puri & chat street food. Top day out feeling the S.OK shop love 🌺🫶🇮🇳

☕️ Sitting here on Saturday morning enjoying the peace this place brings, backed up by my memories of past over winter homes here in Goa.

👯 Yesterday I had a joyous catch up with after 12 years! We started with brunch, a walk down the beach and a dip in the sea. We got stuck right into all areas, our reasons behind why we work the way we do and what brings us true happiness. We basically arrived at the same place - we love the freedom to live on our own terms, not want or need too much, just enough to travel, be inspired by our surroundings and enjoy the ride. We both need a home base (mine is my wee cottage in Somerset) but home can be anywhere that brings us a feeling of happiness and connection.

💕 Home is where the heart is. Happy weekends everyone.

Goodbye wonderful Ann Smith. Mother of my ex. She was always up for it. Great fun and fabulously stylish. Here’s she is wearing some of my S.O’K pieces over the years. She would break into a spontaneous sing along at the drop of a hat, I loved her ‘Can I Canoe up the River’ rendition (think it was Tex Beneke) top value. Another one off lovely human being ❤️

💕 2nd picture is of a very young mum and dearest aunt Patsi who died last week and sisters Joan & Sylvia back in Melbourne. Originally I was supposed to go to Australia to spend Christmas but now I’m off on a rogue SE Asian trip instead.

🎅I’ll be dodging those Christmas carols this year. With Father Christmas on this one!

⏱️ Four days and counting until my trip begins.. first stop Athens.. meanwhile running round with my hair on fire getting everything sorted from year end accounts to my cottage ready for Air B&B letting.
