Stephen O. Omollo is a fashion artprenuer & director of Unsigned Designs (K) Ltd.

I manage the UDK brand in it’s mission to turn ideas into functional fashion products.

Unsigned creates, develops & sells products that customers love to use. Starting with T-Shirts and bags, I have now added custom-made clothes with a mix of African & contemporary fabrics. I am currently running in-house fashion experiments & developing our online presence.

Before joining art school, l saw myself investing in the fashion industry – or becoming a designer; but with time l grew and eventually came to enjoy fashion art.

This journey of growth began with a bag collection. Then the desire to learn saw me master a sewing machine. And took me to Buruburu Institute of Fine Art for an interview:

“What are you looking to do here?” .

“To grow my skill”.

After art school I followed my passion, and entered the fashion industry – with no idea of how to run a business. Thankfully, Unsigned has grown since then, relying almost exclusively on word of mouth and referrals for sales.

I read widely. I love Kenyan coffee. I’m a swimmer. I love music, art, physical beauty and developing products. I live in Nairobi with my wife Nancy.
