The pitfalls of entrepreneurship are to remain an entrepreneur...
RULE #1: Don't start a business, create a system.
Never forget this. In the race for gold, the first millionaire is the shovel seller.
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN???
If we say there's gold somewhere, the entire population will start looking for it there to become rich. However, people forget that to dig and find gold, you need shovels, and since everyone will be interested in searching for gold, no one will realize that the market for shovels will experience strong growth, because everyone will be trying to get a shovel to dig for gold.
The smartest person in the search for gold is therefore not the first to start digging, but rather the first to sell shovels. In the search for gold, the first millionaire is the shovel salesman: Never forget that.
Today, entrepreneurship has become the new gold mine, and unfortunately, I see people desperate to join the mine to dig instead of just selling shovels.
WHAT DOES "join the mine" MEAN?
It means you want the title of entrepreneur, and to be seen first even if you don't make any money. You just want the facet of entrepreneurship.
WHAT DOES "Sell shovels" MEAN?
It means you've managed to create a system that others use and that makes you money, even if you're not at the forefront.
How do you create a system so you no longer join the mine, but instead sell shovels?
RULE #1: In your business, you must always ask yourself the following question:
How can I make my business make money in my absence?
I'll give you a simple example so you can understand:
Let's say you want to open a hair salon because you've noticed there's a place in your city where there isn't one. If you haven't understood that you need to create a system, you'll simply open a hair salon, then hire one or two hairdressers, and hope to make money from the proceeds:
IT'S CALLED JOINING THE MINE.
A smart entrepreneur will ask themselves how to create a system of hair salons in a specific area so that even in their absence, the salon will make money.
For example, you could create a beautiful, well-equipped hair salon, and instead of hiring hairdressers, you could offer small spaces in your salon for rent.
This means you'll find out about the best hairdressers in your city who don't have a modern space.
You'll offer them space (chair + mirror) for rent in your salon. Each month, they'll have to pay you rent for this space, and you'll also take a 10% commission on each hairstyle for air conditioning and cleaning costs.
What's the difference between the two formats? In the first format, you'll spend money and hire staff, whom you'll have to pay each month.
If you don't have enough customers, you'll have unpaid bills and then go bankrupt.
In the second format, whether they have customers or not, the people who occupy your space have to pay you. You're therefore guaranteed to cover your rent every month. In addition, you receive commissions on each hairstyle, which will increase your revenue.
Your sole responsibility in this format is to create and maintain the beauty and cleanliness of this space.
In the first format, you joined the mine because you became the owner of a hair salon.
In the second format, you sold shovels because you became the owner of a space that brings together hairdressers.
So you must always remember that you shouldn't join the mine, but rather sell shovels.
If you're already in the mine, you now need to think about how to set up your system.
The world is yours... Make the right decisions
