A family from Canada joined us to discover a hidden side of Tokyo.

Together, they practiced calligraphy, carved their own Hanko, and stepped into a small workshop where traditional Japanese craftsmanship has been passed down for generations.

Far from the crowds and famous landmarks, it became a chance to slow down and create something meaningful together.

Not just a souvenir, but a memory of Japan to take home.

Some brands tell their story through a logo.

In Japan, that story can also be expressed through a Hanko.

For this project, we didn’t simply carve an existing logo.

Working closely with Timmeh , we carefully reimagined their brand in Japanese — carving the Kanji name “熊虫” (tardigrade) and combining it with their original illustration to create a Hanko that truly reflects their identity.

Every custom Hanko is a conversation, and every design is created with care, one client at a time.

In Japan, a Hanko (判子) is more than a stamp.

Traditionally, it represents your identity, your responsibility, and your place in society. It carries your name, but in many ways, it represents you.

Behind every Hanko is a craft that has been passed down through generations of artisans, preserving techniques that continue to be practiced with a spirit of “shokunin” today.

HANKO JAPAN began with a simple belief that more people around the world deserve the chance to discover the craftsmanship, traditions, and human stories that make Japan so special.

This Hanko was created for Kyoshin Dojo, carrying the name and identity of their dojo in a form that has been part of Japanese tradition for generations.
