Happy Holidays to Facebook Family...been a long long time since I have penned a perspective on anything! I have been for a time looking at the state of affairs in our schools, churches, our society on the whole...we do not want to be accountable...we do not hold anyone accountable...hence we regress rather than progress...
I serve on Civic committees and getting the responsible personnel to prepare the financial report and the minutes is like pulling teeth and ask to share with the wider community...that is like speaking profanities!
I cannot understand why persons go up for public offices and do not want scrutiny...we see it with our politicians...Public 'officials' are forgetting their role is grounded in being of SERVICE...why are they seeking to serve then wants to be worshipped?
Then the disgusting part is they have so many worshippers so they strongly believe they are right.
It was a few days ago one of my mentors called me and said "the world we now live in tells us that wrong is right!" Sadly, his words only cemented my musings...
Today for the Christians is the day Christ was crucified to grant freedom...Freedom is the gift of salvation...many may not agree with this point of view...but for me salvation is freedom...increasingly we are losing our freedom, to be...
We owe it to ourselves and the generations to come to be accountable...to self, and our communities. We need to demand that of the individuals who we have entrusted to lead us through their service...For too long we have allowed our leaders to believe it's their right and not a privilege to hold the offices in which they sit...I always remembered the words from a play from my childhood..."If you want to be great in God's Kingdom, you have to be a servant of ALL"...
I choose to serve so I can leave this world a little better than I found it...hope you will too
