Do you use a scent on your lures? Scenting your soft lures and even some hard lures has always had a bit of a following, usually in dirty water, at night or in hard/heavy fished areas. These days we are selling so much of it I am thinking it is being used in all conditions (or more people are fishing at night these days.... I don't know).
Anyhoo, many of you will be pleased to know the Halco one is back in stock again after many month of not having.
Weirdly, the Freshwater one is way more popular in the sea, and SW version sell well for Freshwater applications ... we are a strange bunch eh!

Back by demand, we got a few Sleeper Gills back in as a few of you had asked about them since watching/listening to Nicolas Cadiou and The Viking on their recent video when they were using craw baits etc while sight fishing in Brittany.

Speaking to Dan Eds and Nicolas, they reckon to try these at slack water over high or low, which makes sense to me and is handy to know, as quite often for an hour over slack water I am twiddling my thumbs wondering what to do.

I few new colours too, I picked these to mimic wrasse mainly, and a white one because sick fish are white ;-)

I am sure you are probably sick of my Panama trip pictures by now, but I have created a blog with a bit more in-depth info on the fish, techniques and tackle if you are interested. Cheers ;-)

I have just got back from my annual pilgrimage to Panama ~ my 6th trip to my happy place with my tropical fishing partner Phil Crank (from the UK), where we throw lures, meet old friends and new friends, eat the best seafood and fish in the most beautiful location I have ever visited. Panamas Pearl....

So nice to have all our favourite Zonk 120s back in stock again. The French Pearl and Red Head being a big favourite with lots of our customers. It is mad how this lure has been around for so long and is still so popular eh. I take the middle hook off myself, it doesn't seem to effect the action at all, I have even caught on one using just 2 x single hooks although I am not a fan of singles on hard lures for our bass.

So after me mentioning the new Namija rods yesterday I did not get much rest last night with messages and comments :-) But anyhoo I have managed to get them on the site this morning (link below). If you missed it yesterday, here is my first thoughts again from when I first opened the boxes:
My first thoughts on the new Tenryu Namija rods.....?
Well, for years, and I mean literally since we started selling them back in 2007, we have been asking Ultimate Fishing to create a few Tenryu to cater for the UK guys that need that distance and/or height of rod for open coast or beach. There was the original Japanese Tenryu called the SWAT, which some people liked, but I personally never liked that rod, I found it OK but sloppy in the mid-section, it just didn't suit the UK style of fishing in my opinion, so I never stocked it in the shop (just sold some via request). Well with Sietze on the case too, I must admit they have nailed it with these rods, they are absolutely spot on in length choices, casting weights and overall rod weight (so light!!)
They just do not feel like the length you are holding, close your eyes and the 9ft feels like a 7ft 6in or 8ft rod maximum, and this feeling continues up the range.
The action is spot on, it is fast but not heavy, so not like the Akuru but faster than the Injections, if anything I would say like mega versions of the Fast Finesse range.

I'll do one of my famous ceiling bend and shop wiggle videos soon 😂 And I will upload them on the site this week, if you are in Jersey then remember to have a feel when you next pop in, they are unreal in the hand!

Sakura were one of the first companies we dealt with way back when we opened in 2007, it was nice being the first in the UK to have their gear and to be honest there has always been a few products that I have missed since we stopped selling them. Anyhoo, we are getting a few bits in once again because myself and some friends use the Mr Joe to great effect in Panama for so many species. The Naja 125, is in my opinion, a perfect replacement for the Lucky Craft Sammy 128 which is no longer made.
The new Sakura rods that I saw in France last year looked fantastic too so we are hoping to try some again soon.
Well some of my friends will be glad to know we have the Mr Joe back in the shop and online ;-)

Any of you guys use the Hound and love it? We have always had a few of the brilliant Ima Hound Glide 125Fs in stock, they have a bit of a following here with a few guys that need distance and shallow running in one lure. Anyhoo... we have given them a whole row in the shop now as they do deserve it.
Like I said, long range, shallow enough for most shallow marks, and some stunning colours that'll fit every situation. My favourites in the new batch we stock? The Sardine red belly will be hugely popular here, and the orange belly one I called pollack, man that will nail fish here 100%.

The beard is not permanent, just growing it while I am on a diet trying to lose weight before my next holiday lol. It's a protest beard for not drinking any alcohol :-)
We did a little free prize draw for January orders, basically anyone that placed an order was entered in to it. Well anyhoo I decided to add 2 more little prizes for 2nd and 3rd. Ross in Guernsey won the Xorus Patch 125 Treasure box, Josh from Connah's Quay and Adam from Redruth both one a Patch 140 each ;-) thanks guys, I couldn't post the original video because I realised you could literally see everyone's names and amounts they had spend in January.
