Ultimamente sto facendo un po' di esperimenti con queste fasce laminate. Non ho inventato niente di nuovo, ma mi piace chiamare questo materiale "WALSA". Cosa sarà mai?
Aiutino: ci sarà anche la versione "CHALSA" e forse anche il "MALSA" e "SPRALSA".

Lately I've been doing some experiments with these laminated sides. I haven't invented anything new, but I like to call this material "WALSA." What could it possibly be?
A little hint: there will also be a "CHALSA" version, and perhaps even "MALSA" and "SPRALSA."

Sono un po' in ritardo con la pubblicazione degli strumenti fatti nell'ultimo paio di mesi: ecco un Tenore Moderno in noce marezzato e abete.
Questo ukulele mi ha dato l'ispirazione per l'ultima chitarra acustica, finita anche lei un mesetto fa (tutto sempre in ritardo!), che a breve vi farò vedere.

I’m a little late on posting the instruments I’ve made over the last couple of months: here’s a Moderno Tenor in figured walnut and spruce.
This ukulele inspired my latest acoustic guitar, which I also finished about a month ago (always running late with everything!), that I’ll show to you soon.

Sono passati 4 mesi ormai da quando ho finalmente trovato il modo di riprendere la produzione dell'ukulele Sacco con un nuovo materiale, la cartapesta! Il primo prototipo funzionante ha aspettato pazientemente tutto questo tempo in laboratorio, sotto osservazione per vedere che tutto reggesse nel tempo e posso dire che sono molto soddisfatto! Oggi quel primo prototipo è partito per la sua nuova casa in Inghilterra, mentre nei prossimi mesi partirà la produzione vera e propria con questo nuovo materiale!

It’s now been four months since I finally found a way to resume production of the Sacco ukulele using a new material: papier-mâché! The first working prototype has been patiently sitting in the workshop all this time, under observation to make sure everything would hold up over time, and I can say I’m very satisfied with the results.
Today, that first prototype left for its new home in England, while over the next few months full production with this new material will officially begin!

Il sopranino ha il suo particolare suono da radiolina a valvole, con molto attacco e quasi nessun sustain, che lo rende sicuramente più adatto ad altri tipi di musica ( ragtime, pezzi veloci anni 20-30)...ma io finisco sempre per suonarci cose del genere 😄

The sopranino has its own particular tiny-tube-radio sound, with a lot of attack and almost no sustain, which certainly makes it more suitable for other types of music (ragtime, fast pieces from the 20s and 30s)... but I always end up playing stuff like that on it😄

Mi piace usare alberi che effettivamente conosciamo, quanti di noi sanno come sono fatte le foglie di un palissandro o di un mogano?
