Simone Adolphine Weil (Paris, 3 février 1909 – Ashford, 24 août 1943) était l'une des philosophes, penseuses et écrivaines françaises les plus importantes du XXe siècle. Après sa mort, survenue alors qu'elle n'avait que 34 ans, Albert Camus a fait connaître et promu ses œuvres.

Pierpaolo Pregnolato, who graduated from humanities at the Ca' Foscari University with a thesis on technology and experimentation with print-on-demand e-books, opened this store specializing in rare editions in 2009.
An independent upscale place, it is a homage to his grandparents, Ernst Stockhausen and Luigina Vianelli, artisan printers and bookbinders from Chioggia. He opened this small literature and art salon/bookshop and publishing house away
from the crowd, between the Campo San Polo and the market on the Rialto.
His catalogue reflects him perfectly, full of surprises and literary curiosities, starting with the "Invisible Cities" series: Venice di Notte (Sogno) by the Goncourt brothers, The Passerby of Prague by Apollinaire and Jaipur by Guido Gozzano. And capping it all, a very sophisticated collection of handmade artists' books, from Ai Weiwei to Pier Paolo Pasolini, from Francis Bacon to Allen Ginsberg.
