The myth: Soul of Sorrento

The name of the city derives from the Latin adaptation of "sirens," a reference to the mythical musical mermaids who lured Ulysses. The most important temples of Surrentum were those of Athena and of the Sirens, also, according to the legend, founded by Ulysses and originally devoted to the cult of the Sirens, hence Sorrento's name. Their Soul trapped forever in essence of our limoncello.
