We definitely learned the hard way on this trip. Don’t make the same mistake we did if you visit.

Have you ever had a tourist trap/scam moment on a trip? Tell me so I feel better about my mistake 😆

He really enjoyed the ice cream.

Are spinny rides an automatic no for you or do you take one for the team?

This method has helped us turn spending money on trips into something the kids look forward to because it feels so good for them to see their hard work pay off with something they want to buy.

Curious how other families handle this! Do your kids get spending money on trips?

I shared this a few years ago when we were in London but since I just shared all of my family-friendly itineraries for our most recent London trip, i wanted to share this again in case it helps any other families.

We realized we had never talked to our kids about a plan of what to do if we got separated in a different country. Would our phones work? What if there was a language barrier? Questions like this are good to think about and talk through with your kids, even though hopefully you will never have to worry about something like this.

The bus tour we used was . I’d never use them again. All they worried about was cramming as many people on the bus as they could and didn’t listen if anyone asked them to stop or wait to get off.

Our kids were right in front of us as we tried to walk off and they let a huge sea of people on. Lots of others were trying to get off too. Someone shouted that there were two little kids out there, but the bus took off. I saw my kids out the window and it was absolutely terrifying realizing that Jordan was still stuck on the bus too and neither of us were out there with them before the doors shut.

I’m so glad someone from a different bus company saw them crying at the stop and took care of them until we got the bus driver to stop the bus.

Use this as a precaution and come up with a plan with your kids about what to do in case you ever get separated. 🩶

Here’s part 2 of my posts about our trip to London with kids. Comment LONDON below and get a link to the part 1 post and the blog that includes all this information:

✔️Our overall London itinerary
✔️Where we stayed
✔️A full blog post including links to the tours we did
✔️The stroller we brought and loved
✔️How we handle souvenir money on trips
✔️My map of over 100 places in London that we bookmarked while there. This map is so helpful when you’re traveling because you can see where everything is in relation to where you are. It helped us decide on so many food places and routes during the day.

We’ve taken our 4 kids to London twice now. By no means am I an expert, but we’ve loved it so much we keep booking stops here on our trips. I think it’s hands down one of the easiest international trips to start with as a family.

(Note, you can turn this into a 3-day itinerary too! Just pick whichever day doesn’t fit your families interests, and eliminate that day. You can also mix and match a bit in the days, but know that it will be a lot more back and forth and not as much time in each place, which means it will be more tiring! We have done everything in this list in 3 days before but it definitely felt like a lot. So pick your pace and number of days and plan accordingly!)

We packed a lot into these three days, but the great thing about this itinerary is it’s so flexible to adjust it to make it work for your family’s interests.
