Beneath the vintage aesthetics, it’s a high-performance machine: mahogany body and neck, a sleek ebony board framed by white binding, and Jescar stainless steel frets for effortless playability. The soul of this build? A FAT90 by Celentano pickups an overwound Alnico 5 soapbar designed to deliver a massive mid-range growl.

In the February centerfold, there will be Max of the mighty Malota, with his new Jailbreak Kaczynski J-Bass Model.
A sort of Jazz Bass, but with a Hoxey Guitars aluminum neck and a Stonewall Pickups P90 , finished in a stunning transparent gray.

This kind of Jazz Bass was conceived as a hot-rodded version of a project I’m developing with my friend and colleague Marco "Iumbe" C.
He connected me with the Hoxey Guitars aluminium neck and Stonewall Pickups — a killer combination.

We also added a push-push tone control for series/parallel switching, giving it even more versatility under the hood.

After trying the prototype, my friend Max fell in love with the concept… but decided to bring it into a classic Jazz Bass shape with a transparent grey finish.

And soon you’ll be able to hear it on stage with Malota!!
