Introducing Cuore di Mare 🐟🐙🌋🧄🌸
There are places that stay with you long after you leave them.
For me, the Aeolian Islands were one of those places, volcanic landscapes, whitewashed walls where capers cling to stone, wild flowers in the wind, the dark silhouette of Stromboli against the sky.
Cuore di Mare was born from that memory.
Island life has long shaped my reality, its rhythm, its intensity, its self-contained worlds open to the horizon. When I began envisioning this first collection for TA•MA, I brought with me images, atmospheres, fragments of memory from island landscapes that have marked my life.
From there, the collaboration began. In dialogue with illustrator and painter Aïsha Ravate .e.s.t.a , who herself lives on an island, those inspirations were explored, questioned, and reinterpreted. I shared references and sensations; she kept what resonated with her and translated it into drawings.
The symbols that emerged, capers, octopus, garlic, mussels, volcanic silhouettes, are the result of that exchange.
Not imposed, but discovered together.
Through her research, Aïsha introduced the legend of the Aeolian fisherwomen, women who remained when the men left for war, sustaining their islands in silence. Their presence gave the collection its emotional depth.
Each piece is handcrafted and hand-painted in Italy. Each motif carries the trace of dialogue.
Each object holds memory and gesture.
Cuore di Mare is a living collection, unfolding in chapters.
The first, La Pescatrice, places the figure of the fisherwoman at its center, a tribute we are proud to share as International Women’s Day approaches.
An island translated into clay. A shared vision shaped by landscape, memory, and hand.
I hope it’ll bring some joy at your table 💙
