In Hraun art and design ideas flow in the works of multi artists Guðný Björk Guðjónsdóttir and Kristján Logason. Neither craft nor design, least of all the space. Shop is not a retail store but art space that still is a studio workspace where everything is for sale and everything is part of the work as a whole, but take on a new life as it is taken out of its context. Kristjan and Guðný have long
worked against the traditional use of space and the traditions that bound people in the use of their surrounding space and how it should look or be buildt. Why would not have lava in your yard and tulips in the lava. Why do we have our home in a fixed place but not on wheels. Why is seen as a alternative unconventionalism to live in a holiday home or a hut but not in a high rise apartment. The flow of ideas and works in Hraun art and design should be free and not bound in a booth or limited to one medium. The day to day form will tend to dominate the creation process. What is on display today may be gone tomorrow and new works come into the space and thereby created a new space. The works bear marks of the artists and their influence from travel in various parts of the world. Material is not confined to any one area although borders in various work groups emerge automatically, but ambiguous. The works have no original country other than the mindset of artists where there are no borders and ideas are free to flow back and forth and are therefore free from the limits of marking turf except where where the process is of each time and the artwork rests in its travel.
