This page is a tribute to the 70th Anniversary and honoring my father, my grandfather, and my father's uncle for starting the 1st music store in Iran, back in 1945 called "Skenderian Music Center". A real cultural center full of musical instruments and notations for most of the instruments in the world. For 70 years Skenderian Music Center was the only place to go to, if you needed a specific musi
c piece for a certain instrument and you couldn't find it anywhere else in the middle-east. As well as having an archive of more than 100,000 titles of music notation, we also maintained about 6,000 LPs and Cassette Tapes archived from all around the world and in all the Genres, from Folk songs to Classical, Jazz, Pop, Rock, Country, World, Electronic, Modern, etc. It’s sad and unfortunate that we had to stop at some point and leave the country, because there was no more hope nor the motivation for us to stay active any longer and serve the Iranian community (mainly the young generation) to cultivate and feed their musical needs. There was almost no use of our archive and maybe only %5 of it was being used. This huge archive was basically just sitting there and collecting dust for the past few years...and only a handful of people and musicians knew what it meant to have all this music available to everyone. Decades of collected and maintained material, all the books and LPs that were kept in great shape so that it can be available to the next musician walking in the store. All this energy was being wasted. Well, the time has passed and things have changed. Thank you for your support and love for all these years and making it possible for us to serve the musical community for such a long time. Best musical wishes,
Skenderian Music Center
