Bonsai of Ficus microcarpa, also known as Chinese banyan tree.
Plant in pic is about 3 years old and is under training.

Bonsai is the Japanese art of growing and training miniature trees in pots/containers. It is believed that this art form originated in China.

Bonsai is a process to produce small trees that mimic the shape of real life trees. This is a long-term process which needs lot of attention, skill, care, and above all lots of patience.

Normally bonsai is a single, dwarfed tree in a small container. It must have the appearance of a mature tree - overall shapes, proportions, and details as in nature.

Bonsai can be created from any perennial woody-stemmed tree or shrub. It must be able to grow in small pot and can survive crown and root pruning.

Orchid blooming from my collection !
Orchid : Brassocattleya Yellow Bird.
This orchid is cross between Brassocattleya & Brassavola nodosa orchids (intergeneric hybrid).
Very easy to grow. I am growing this mounted on a piece of wood with a small amount of coconut husk and kept hanging in bright airy location. Receives only morning direct sunlight. Can also be grown in small pots. Grows well in bright light. Should receive some morning direct sunlight. Flowers are very long lasting and can last for about 6-7weeks ! It has late evening mild fragrance. Can bloom multiple times a year.
Very easily available at reasonable price (not very costly) from various sources/sellers.

Grown as ornamental plant for its peculiar appearance and beautiful flowers. Flowers bloom during the day with sweet, lemony fragrance. Flowers lasts for a day or two.
Needs free draining media. Slow growing plant. Easy to grow & low maintenance plant.
