Inspiring Entrepreneurs:
Many could have just heard the word entrepreneur. Some could have fancied becoming an entrepreneur. Few could have succeeded as entrepreneurs. But how many had revolutionized like Mr.Ayya Nadar and Mr.Shanmuga Nadar did?
In 1923, these two cousin brothers went to Kolkata, stayed for 8 months and learned the art of making the matches. Upon their return they started separate match factories with the brands Anil (squirrel) and Seval (c**k). They were aged just 17 and 19 during that time. At that age they sowed the seeds for match factories and fireworks industries in Sivakasi. Isn’t it a revolution? Their act transformed the small poverty stricken Sivakasi village into a bustling town, gave livelihood to thousands of people and much more.
According to R.G. Chandramogan, another entrepreneur and owner of Hatsun Agro (Arun ice cream, Ibaco, etc.), who happened to grow up in this town and witness this transformation said,
This revolution was brought to Sivakasi by Shanmuga Nadar and his cousin Ayya Nadar. The people of our town looked up to them as demigods because of the prosperity they brought to us.
So remember, becoming entrepreneur or being an entrepreneur will not only help to achieve personal goals, it may even bring a revolution! Are you ready?!?
