Have you ever wondered why *Hanuman didn’t kill Ravana*?
There are *three main reasons*, and the last one might surprise you.
*1. Hanuman is considered an avatar of Lord Shiva.*
According to Hindu scriptures, deities do not kill their true devotees. Ravana, despite being a demon king, was one of the greatest devotees of Lord Shiva. So, Hanuman, as Shiva’s avatar, would not kill him.
*2. Hanuman’s mission was specific — to find Sita and deliver the message.*
Lord Rama had entrusted Hanuman with the task of locating Sita and reporting back. His goal wasn’t to seek personal glory or engage in battle, but to serve and assist Lord Rama.
*3. Even if Hanuman tried, he could not have killed Ravana.*
Just like Bali and Kartavirya Arjuna, Hanuman could defeat Ravana in battle, but *killing him was not possible* — as per divine prophecy, only the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu, *Lord Rama*, was destined to kill Ravana.
Thus, divine order, devotion, and dharma all played a role in this profound choice.
