Samsung M series of phones, the Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20, have been officially launched in India. The new Galaxy M phones are marketed as "India-first" smartphones and targeted to the millennial. The Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 both have Infinity-V Display panels as well as dual rear camera setups. The smartphones also come with a face unlock feature and pack up to 5,000mAh battery. The company hasn't provided its One UI based on Android Pie on the new models. However, there is a new custom skin powered by Android 8.1 Oreo on the Samsung M series of phones. There will also be Widevine L1 support to enable HD video streaming through apps such as Amazon Prime Video and Netflix. The Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 also come as an online-exclusive models with their sale scheduled for February 7 via Amazon.in and Samsung India e-Store.

Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi today, while formally inaugurating Petrotech 2019, said that India has taken a lead in energy accessibility.

He highlighted that the world is entering an era of greater energy availability, however, he added that more than one billion people in the world still do not have access to electricity and more than a billion do not have accessibility to clean cooking fuel.

“India has taken a lead in addressing this issue of energy access, in our success, I see hope for the world that problems of energy availability can be suitably addressed,” said Modi.

He said that energy justice was also a key objective and top priority for India and the government has, towards this end, developed and implemented many policies whose results are now evident.

He explained how the government has managed to provide electricity to all rural places in the country. And further added that the Saubhagya scheme would provide 100 per cent electrification of households this year.

He said that India’s World Bank Ease of Getting Electricity ranking, improved from 111 in 2014 to 29 in 2018.

Modi said that over 64 billion households were given LPG connections in just three years under the Ujjwala Scheme and added that a ‘Blue Flame Revoultion’ was underway. He said that the LPG coverage has reached more than 90 per cent, from 55 per cent five years ago.

PM Modi said that clean transportation in the country was getting a boost as the country is directly shifting to BS-VI grade fuel by 2020, from the current BS-IV.

Modi said that India is currently the fastest-growing large economy in the world and was projected to continue the growth in the coming years as projected by the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. He added that India is currently the sixth-largest economy in the world, projected to become the second-largest economy by 2030.

The United Left Alliance—comprising Left-leaning All India Students’ Association (AISA), Democratic Students Federation (DSF), Student Federation of India (SFI) and All India Students Federation (AISF)—on Sunday swept the Jawaharlal Nehru University Student Union elections with candidates from the coalition winning all central panel posts.

The victory for the United Left Alliances comes a day after violence marred the counting process on campus on Saturday. The Left Alliance candidate for the presidential post, N Sai Balaji, maintained a steady lead since counting resumed on Sunday, eventually bagging 2,161 votes. ABVP's Lalit Pandey came second (982 votes), followed by BAPSA, RJD, and NSUI.
