Opening Super market is today's trend. but you know what are top ten mistake we do while opening Super market.
Opening and running successfully supermarket is not so easy but if you take care below mentioned mistakes you can Also run a supermarket as profitable business.
1st Mistake.
Billing software is play a very important role in supermarket. first we have to choose a right software which is allready installed in other supermarket and working fine. Don't take risk by taking software from newly strated software company. they may not have experience of supermarket and they will start trail and errors with you.
Ask below question before you finalise software. Example.1. Do you have inventory option 2. Can we handle multiple customer at same time? 3. can we generate barcode etc....
2nd Mistake.
After chooseing software we have to set different place for purchase entry and sales. we can't do both sales and purchase at same time. after sometime we may miss or do wrong in purchase entry due to busy in sales .it will effect our inventory.
3rd Mistake
To save cost we use our existing laptop for billing and make laptop as server.. but server required to be most of time on for billing and laptop is not suggested for server purpose.. you can use laptop as client and install desktop as server with speed processors and High storage capacity.
4th Mistake.
In billing counter we spend thousands of money for display counter and forgot to keep plug point to use for computer and printer. At least 4 point required at Billing counter. 2 for computer; one for printer; one for weighing scale or swiping machine.
5th Mistake
80% of items are coming with barcode and 20% items doesn't have barcoode.if any item doesn't have barcode we must generate barcode while purchase entry and never allowe item to Bill without barcode. if we don't have barcode. we may select wrong item or wrong price at the time of billing and it will effect our inventory.
6th Mistake.
Sometime distributors or sales executive of different company with dump slow moving item to you by offering extra discount or offers. always use software to check existing stcok and movement of stock before ordering.
7th Mistake.
Sometime we don't cross check of item supplied by our. distributors.always check qty and weight by useing proper weighing scale in front of distributors to avoid shortage of stock.
8th Mistake.
stcoks shows in software and actuall stcok may differ due many internal or external reasons. please keep a abit of random stock checking practice once in a week.
9th Mistake
Bill print paper and sticklers are very fast consuming and required on day today basis. keep always sufficient stock of paper and stcikers. otherwise staff may give excuse of paper shortage and donot generate bill for customers.
10tg Mistake
weighing scale is very important for re packing and cross checking items
and we have to buy good quality weighing scale with high accuracy.
