About the role
Our huge range of products doesn’t just need to excite and inspire customers, it must also be profitable. That’s where our commercially focused merchandising team come in. Your challenge is to manage stock in order to hit financial targets such as sales, profit and stock turn and to make sure the stock is in the right place at the right time.
The successful applicant will be highly numerate, with a preferred background in demand forecasting, inbound volume planning, general merchandise trading, and/or logistics management. They will also have an eye for detail, being highly organised and able to prioritise a busy workload.
As a Category Manager you will:
Act as the ‘business owner’ for his/her categories, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact our business (this entails owning forecasting, monitoring, understanding and reporting on the category, along with responsibility for driving strategic projects to achieve business objectives)
Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in merchandise planning and replenishment and applies this to the development, ex*****on, and improvement of action plans to improve customer experience.
Prepare forecasts to ensure sales, stock holding, margin and availability is optimised
Work with the replenishment teams to plan initial allocations & launch builds & ensure that stock & availability targets are met
Conduct comparative analysis of festival or other seasonal performance reports and provide the insights that inform the
Buying and Inventory teams’ work to ensure that product supports projected sales.
Develop and manage retail product displays.
Create, recommend, and implement ideas to help store reach all goals and objectives.
Manage the merchandising areas to optimize selling space and maximize selling potential.
Creating promotional items, merchandising aids and tools within brand guidelines.
Developing and monitoring on-line merchandising catalogues and inventory management.
Use customer-focused strategies, to educate and train dealers on how to effectively merchandise and maintain their retail display areas through presentations, trainings, videos and on-site visits.
Support coordination of product displays and utilize merchandising techniques at marketing activities such as industry trade shows and dealer-focused meeting and training events.
Manage multiple projects, monitor and allocate appropriate resources to various accounts.
If you are a person with:
Minimum 5 years of sales and retail experience (MUST).
Experience in buying, marketing, visual merchandising, e commerce and retail operations management.
Extraordinary customer service dedication.
Adaptive and solutions-based approach to selling.
Proactive, strong communicator in all forms & at all level.
Excellent planning & organisational skills.
Excellent Computer skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Microsoft Excel) to at least intermediate level.
Ability to work under pressure, maintaining accuracy & keeping to deadlines.
Strong analytical skills and a technical mind set/proven ability to interpret numerical data.
Ability to influence effectively and build constructive working relationships across the business.
Adaptable and flexible approach to working hours to support a 24/7 business operation (including potential weekend working and out of hours office support).
