The Bengal chapter of All India Game Fishing Association conducted the Clean water Mission the brainchild of our late past President Mr. Ali Hussaini. The event was conducted at Bidhan Sishu Udyan of Salt Lake City Kolkata. The event was attended by members of AIGFA Bengal Chapter and members from Bangalore, Orissa, Mumbai were present. The
Chief Guests of the event were
1. Mr. Debasis Sen – Chairman HIDCO and Additional Chief Secretary of West Bengal
2. Mr. Soumyajit Das – Managing Director, SFDC Ltd. & Ex-officio Joint Secretary to the Govt. of West Bengal Department of Fisheries.
3. Mr. B.K Mondal – General Manager, State Fisheries Development Corporation, Govt. of West Bengal
4. Mr. Shivaji Ray – Ex Joint MD, MN Dastur & Co.
Mr. Debasis Sen understood the importance of Clean Water mission and applauded AIGFA for the steps taken in terms of bringing the stakeholders closer. Mr. Soumyajit Das, Managing Director of Fisheries discussed the course of action with Santosh, Chandan, Derek and Arunabh on how to bring the different ministries together to be a part of this action plan. Mr. Chandan mentioned that he will continue the conversation with the ministry to take this forward.
As fish represents the health of the water body, a symbolic release of Carp fingerlings were released by Mr. Soumyajit Das, Mr. BK Mondal, Mr. Debasis Sen and Mr. Shivaji Ray.
The volunteers and members got down to clean the small lake of all the plastic and other non bio degradable material from the Lake and its surroundings.

The biggest outcome of this drive was that State Fisheries Development Corporation declared that they would be a partner with AIGFA for the Clean Water Mission Drive in the State of West Bengal.
