The food delivery industry is taking customers for granted and the service standards are worsening day by day. On the 6th of March 24, I ordered a fries bucket from. at 10:10 pm. The order was accepted and the payment of ₹456.01 was made immediately. Till 11:15 pm there was no sign of delivery or any message. I tried calling the customer care number but alas they are open till 9:00 pm. I didn't have food prepared at home and was famished. I stay in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, most of the kitchens close by 10 or 10:30 pm. I was in a desperate situation, luckily I found a place still delivering and ordered food which I received around 11:45 pm.
The next day when I could connect with the call centre, the executive informed me that the restaurant cancelled the order, of which I had not received any intimation. They informed me that the money will be refunded within 7 working days. On not receiving the money I called on the 15th March, again to be informed that Saturday and Sunday fell in between so it was not 7 days yet. Till now the money has not been returned. Taking a ballpark figure of 100 people not receiving their order if not more, where ticket size of orders are approximately ₹500 on an average. is sitting on ₹50000 interest free money. It is appalling to see this kind of service existing now. I want to know, who's going to compensate me for the 1 hour 30 minutes I was kept hungry? When I am supposed to receive my money, isn't 7 working days over on the 18th of March. What kind of service standards is providing?
