There’s nothing more therapeutic than tank maintenance day. 🫧🌿

Keeping a nano aquarium bowl this lush and green takes a little bit of regular upkeep, but the process is incredibly relaxing.

In this quick reset, I’m gently scrubbing down the hardscape rocks to remove any early algae film, followed by a light water siphon to clear out fine debris. A quick refill and a few drops of liquid fertilizer keep the plant carpet thriving and the water crystal clear.

Save this video for the next time you need a peaceful, oddly satisfying break in your feed!

Stop buying expensive $CO_2$ kits for carpet plants! 🛑🌱

Everyone says Monte Carlo is a high-tech aquarium plant that needs a heavy $CO_2$ injection to survive, let alone form a thick carpet. Well, this tiny snail cube completely proves them wrong. No fancy gas setups, no complicated tech. Just a decent light, a good substrate, and a whole lot of patience. It takes a bit longer to fill out, but the result is a beautiful, plush green forest floor that anyone can grow on a budget.Save this video to remind yourself that a beautiful aquascape doesn't have to break the bank! 💸

Wait, an electric toothbrush?! 🤯🪥

Green hair algae can take over a nano tank faster than you think. Since I don't add fertilizer, the culprit here is definitely too much light.

Instead of fighting it by hand, I used my favorite secret weapon to spin and lift the algae right out of the plants without pulling them up. Combined with dimming the lights and a quick baster water change, the nano tank is back to looking pristine!

Would you try this toothbrush hack? Save this for your next tank breakout!

Why your stem plants might be dying at the roots... 🫣🌿

If your aquarium stems are growing out of the water but turning yellow or rotting at the base, they might be shading themselves out!

In this video, I’m taking out the tops of my overgrown green and vibrant red stems to save them. Leaving the dead bottoms in the tank is a major trigger for BBA (Black Beard Algae) and nasty water spikes. By removing the rot and replanting the healthy tops, the tank gets a massive reset.

Save this for the next time your tank needs a major overhaul!

Tell me I'm not the only one who finds vacuuming the tank sand therapeutic... 🧼🐟

There is nothing quite like a deep-clean session to reset the vibe of a tank. Watching the gravel vac pull up all that hidden debris from the substrate is pure satisfaction. It's a messy job, but seeing the crystal-clear water and fresh top-off at the end makes the routine completely worth it.

Tell me this isn’t the ultimate dream tank setup... 🥹🌿

There is nothing quite like a massive, shallow rimless aquascape. Bringing nature indoors by letting the driftwood break the surface allows the Anubias and terrestrial plants to flourish right out of the top.

Watch how peacefully the school of Congo Tetras and the keyhole cichlids glide through the currents. It is literal living art.

That color contrast is unreal... 😍🍒

Pruning back the vibrant Ludwigia stems to let the green foreground pop! Keeping red aquatic plants this intense takes the perfect balance of light and nutrients, but a crisp, regular trim is what keeps the shape of the layout looking seamless.

Tell me I'm not the only one who finds this deeply therapeutic... ✂️🧼

Taking a pair of wave scissors to a dense, overgrown Hemianthus callitrichoides 'Cuba' carpet is easily the best part of the week. There is something so rewarding about cutting crisp, perfect lines into an underwater lawn.

Team Hairgrass 🌾 vs. Team Monte Carlo 🌿?

Giving the foreground carpet a quick trim today to keep those lines clean. A lot of people find hairgrass a pain to maintenance because the clippings get everywhere, but you can't deny how sleek it looks when it's freshly cut.

Let me know in the comments: Which foreground carpet plant is your absolute favorite?
