June 10th, 2015...
Its 2.30 Am humans in this part of the civilization are just getting into their deep slumber but for us it was time to wake up for an exciting and long journey on the Winding Roads of NH163 to take us to a place we haven't visited before.
The neighborhood is screeching silent as we could here a dry leaf curl over the tar road.
Four Wheels on the National highway with the early mornings wind gushing into the windows with no inhibitions caressing the sleepy heads to the awake ones the mood was set for a new experience.
Before the beginning of "we are busy" time we reached the Village.
A nice cozy place which had a typical look of a simple village the smell of cow dung and the smoke coming out of the chullas here and there it sure was a authentic village.
The clicks and clacks of the loom served music to the ears as we observe a 20+ weaver weaver with precision what was given to him as a sample order. The ecru of the tussar portrayed pure sophistication.
The boiling of the cocoons, reeling of the yarn , warping and then weaving everything some how showed close to earth ways and means. There was wood of the local trees used in every step. The tools had a simple nice neat woody finish showing the pure usage of local resources.
There was this urge to do something in the people of these two families we met. They were positive about what they did without the big frowns of "What is there in Handloom these days"
The energy was right ....for more initiations
it shall be
We promised to keep the tradition going the way it is with a only promise that they deliver Quality fabrics all the time for us to make this a Sustainable Design Model.
