A small tribute to Electric Locomotive shed Santragachi, SER on their 25 glorious Years of service [1999-2024].

Featuring a small handmade souvenir of ELS SRC homed first ever 3 Phase Passenger Electric loco #30584 that depicts the major breakthrough of technology that the shed witnessed in 2017.

The entire work was completed in just less than 48 hours hence many details are missing.

The Ancient Victoria Jubilee bridge (now abandoned) over Eastern Railway's vital connection between Naihati Garifa (East bank of River Hooghly) and Hooghly Ghat - Bandel (West bank of Hooghly river) of West Bengal was opened today, 16 February 1887 on the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria's rule.

Named after the british Empress Queen Victoria, it stood as an extremely important connection carrying goods and passenger from Calcutta to the rest of India including those using Bandel Barddhaman Khana route as well as Bandel Katwa Azimganj route. Currently, the newly build Sampreeti Bridge gas replaced the overaged truss bridge of Victoria Jubilee bridge.

Say hello to India's first dual cab HHP diesel locomotive: the WDP4D. Equipped with a 16 cylinder 2 stroke turbocharged time tested EMD 710 engine and power of 3phase propulsion, this is India's one of the fastest and strongest diesel locomotive ever made. East India's first Made in India Semi-High speed train inaugural moments- A small compilation.

The Train-18 christened as "Vande Bharat Express" is a Train-18 type fully Air-Conditioned Intercity type self-propelled trainset developed by Integral Coach Factory, Chennai and Medha Servo Drives, Hyderabad. Capable to run at a amximum speed of 160 km/hr, the current service from Howrah to New Jalpaiguri is allowed a maximum speed of 130 km/hr thereby reducing the travel time below 8 hours and making it the fastest and most sophisticated train of this route. Consisting of 16 fully Air Conditioned sitting type accommodation, it has both AC Chair Car (CC) as well as Executive Chair Car (EC) type accommodation. The train was flagged off from Howrah by the Hon'ble PM, Hon'ble CM, WB, Hon'ble Union RM, Hon'ble Governor,WB, Union MoS and the Leader of Opposition WB among other dignitaries.
