Well it all dates back to 1950 when India got its freedom. Much different from what it has in store for its shoppers today. Started by two freedom fighters (Ravi Shankar & Tara Devi) it was just a table full of homemade preserves, pickles & marmalades to begin with. After initial success of the shop a lot of additions were made from international chocolates to provisional items throughout the 60’s. In early 70’s cosmetics became an integral part of the shop which was bought in by their daughter Ms. Sadhana Shankar Asthana. Later in 1970’s came the bliss of music & cold coffee. These two remain favorites of our cherished customers till date. Now run by brothers Dhruv & Jai Shankar they carry this legacy with utmost precision and present its shoppers with nothing less than perfection. In a span of 60 years we have had the honor of welcoming numerous of politicians and celebrities who still drop in for Kesar badam milk, or to buy a music CD or sip the chilled coffee.
Conveniently located in Janpath, one of the busiest marketplaces of Delhi, Adarsh Stores (Music Store & Fast Food Restaurant) is an express style fast food restaurant best suited for those who want to have a quick coffee break or a refreshing brunch. Often thronged by people who come to the Janpath market for shopping, this place is renowned for its offerings of sandwhiches, burger, chicken tikka, pizzas and various soft drinks. This eatery opens daily except on Sundays from 10 AM to 7 PM. All major credit cards are accepted here. Adarsh Stores (Fast Food Restaurant) also undertakes catering orders for birthdays and kitty parties.
