The highly anticipated UFC 321 heavyweight title main event between champion Tom Aspinall and challenger Ciryl Gane ended abruptly in a No Contest just minutes into the first round.

During an exchange, Gane inadvertently poked Aspinall in both eyes. After a consultation with the ringside doctor, Aspinall was deemed unable to continue due to compromised vision, forcing the referee to stop the fight.

The result was a major disappointment for what was Aspinall's first defence of the undisputed title, leaving the heavyweight division's immediate future uncertain, though a rematch is now highly likely.
