Happy Friendship Day! ❤️ — The lotus-eyed Supreme Lord felt intense ecstasy upon touching the body of His dear friend, the wise brāhmaṇa, and thus He shed tears of love.
Texts 20-21-22: Lord Kṛṣṇa seated His friend Sudāmā upon the bed. Then the Lord, who purifies the whole world, personally offered him various tokens of respect and washed his feet, O King, after which He sprinkled the water on His own head. He anointed him with divinely fragrant sandalwood, aguru and kuṅkuma pastes and happily worshiped him with aromatic incense and arrays of lamps. After finally offering him betel nut and the gift of a cow, He welcomed him with pleasing words.
Text 23: By fanning him with her cāmara, the divine goddess of fortune personally served that poor brāhmaṇa, whose clothing was torn and dirty and who was so thin that veins were visible all over his body.
Text 24: The people in the royal palace were astonished to see Kṛṣṇa, the Lord of spotless glory, so lovingly honor this shabbily dressed brāhmaṇa.

कमलनयन भगवान् को अपने प्रिय मित्र विद्वान ब्राह्मण के शरीर का स्पर्श करने पर गहन आनन्द की अनुभूति हुई और उनकी आँखों से प्रेम के आँसू झरने लगे।
Text २०-२१-२२: भगवान् कृष्ण ने अपने मित्र सुदामा को बिस्तर पर बैठाया। फिर समस्त जगत को पवित्र करने वाले भगवान् ने स्वयं नाना प्रकार से उसका आदर किया और हे राजन्, उसके पाँव धोये तथा उसी जल को अपने सिर के ऊपर छिड़का। उन्होंने उसके शरीर पर दिव्य सुगन्धित चन्दन, अगुरु तथा कुंकुम का लेप किया और सुगन्धित धूप तथा दीपों की पंक्तियों से खुशी-खुशी उसकी पूजा की। अन्त में पान देने के बाद उसे दान में गाय दी और मधुर शब्दों से उसका स्वागत किया।
Text २३: साक्षात् लक्ष्मी देवी ने अपनी चामर से पंखा झल कर, उस गरीब ब्राह्मण की सेवा की, जिसके वस्त्र फटे हुए और मैले थे और जो इतना दुर्बल था कि उसके सारे शरीर की नसें दिख रही थीं।
Text २४: राजमहल के निवासी निर्मल कीर्ति वाले भगवान् कृष्ण को इस फटे-पुराने और मैले वस्त्र पहने ब्राह्मण का इतने प्रेम से सम्मान करते देख कर चकित हो गए।
