Different continents. Different language. Different landscape.
Same story.
One photograph from the Ethiopian deserts. Another from the Thar Desert.
When you look closely, are they really that different?
The resilience.
The bond with camels.
The uncertainty of the future.
The hope for the next generation.
At Bahula, we believe landscapes shape people and people shape landscapes. Different bioregions, connected by a shared pastoral way of life.
This World Camel Day, we’re reflecting on a journey that has taken us beyond the Thar and into the Horn of Africa, working alongside camel herding communities and learning from one of the world’s oldest pastoral cultures.
Because the future of camels isn’t a regional story.
It’s a global one.
From the Thar Desert to the Horn of Africa, the hoofprints may be different, but the story remains the same. 🐪
