Origin of "Hindus"
There were no people called "Hindus" before 6th century BCE. When Emperor Darius occupied the Indus Valley in 515 BCE, he called the people of the land, "Sindhu" which in ancient Persian was spelled "Hindu". The Greek soldiers who were under the emperor made it "Indos" in the Greek language.
There were the remnants of the Vedic civilisation or the late Harappan civilisation at that time along with the some of the cities of second urbanisation such as Puskalavathi and Taxila - the beginning of the Historical Hindusim. Read further in my Blog soon at www.Harappaseries.wordpress.com.
