All Saints bakery - started as a bakery on a less frequented stretch of Brigade Road where the Museum Road and the Brigade Road meets and where once stood the Shoolay Police Station. Started by a family which moved from Kerala generations back to settle permanently in Bangalore, it was originally a small store which mainly sold bakery products produced by its own bakery. Though still relatively small in size they've had several expansions and can now be classified as a
supermarket which stocks a wide variety of products. It is now called All Saint’s Bakery and Departmental Stores taking its name from the All Saints Church located on Hosur Road, Bangalore. If your luck has it and you happen to be there just when their bakery products make their way from the bakery then you'll be spoilt for choice between hot and piping buns, breads and cakes.. Not bad for a try soon!

Traditionally dressed waiters at this unique restaurant,Samarkand at Gem Plaza, Infantry road, serve up sumptuous cuisine
from the Afghani frontier and has been pulling the crowds in with its super-rich North Indian fare. Kebabs, such as the Galouti, are consistently good and so is the Dal Afghani with a generous quantity of cream and butter. Diners make their selection from menu cards in the form of a local newspaper, and can watch the food being cooked in the open kitchen. Eating the traditional way using your hand is recommended to get the best taste from the food here. Though priced on the
higher side, the taste makes up for it, hence, would not be a bad idea for special occasions. The place is usually full so making a reservation before heading is definitely recommended!

Every city has a much loved dining institution that's withstood the test of time to remain a local favorite. Koshy's at 39 St Marks Rd, is Bangalore's. It's a simple place with consistently good food, and has been serving people even before the British left. Started in 1940, they even boast of having served dignitaries like Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Nikita Khrushchev and the Queen Elizabeth II. They were awarded the 'Most Stylish' place in Bangalore by MTV. Head for the newer, air conditioned "Jewel Box" if you're after a fancier menu with a few exclusive options. However, the more laid back non air conditioned section is what attracts the diverse crowd for mouth-watering breakfast, a leisurely Sunday brunch, high tea, or to just linger over a beer. Definitely a place to head for this weekend!
