DN1 is a ​photo-sensor which works according to the lux falling vertically on the sensor. ‘​Lux​’ is a ​measurement of Light​. In photometry, lux is used as a measure of the intensity, as perceived by the human eye, of light that hits or passes through a surface. It is a standardized measure of human visual brightness​ ​perception.

The sensor is an ​Energy Saving Device that helps to reduce ​high energy bill for street lighting/outdoor lighting due to overrunning of these lights beyond the needed hours. It is a very cheap and affordable solution to the by and large problem of electricity wastage that can be stopped by implementation of this energy​ ​saving​ ​DN1​ ​DAY​ ​NIGHT​ ​SENSOR.

The sensor finds tremendous application as it has been designed for any kind of outdoor lights; Street lights, Industrial lights, Garden lights, Sign boards & all other types of outdoor area lights including CFLS, LEDs, Incandescent Bulbs, Fluorescent Bulbs, Halogen Bulbs. So far the technology used to operate these outdoor lights have been restricted to the use of Timers, which comes with many drawbacks. DN1 is a replacement of the obsolete technology, it is an innovative​ ​way​ ​to​ ​operate​ ​the​ ​outdoor​ ​lights
