….ಆರಿಸುವಾಗ ಕೆಲವರು ಗೆಳೆಯರು ವಸ್ತುಗಳ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ವಿಭಾಗಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಅಂದರು; ಇನ್ನು ಕೆಲವರು ರಾಜಕೀಯ, ರಾಜಕೀಯೇತರ ಎಂದು ವಿಂಗಡಿಸಿ ಅಂದರು. ಅದೆಲ್ಲ ನನಗೆ ಸರಿ ಅನ್ನಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ರತೀ ವಾರ ಹೇಗೆ ಬೇರೆಬೇರೆ ಮೂಡ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ, ಬೇರೆಬೇರೆ ಒತ್ತಡಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಬೇರೆಬೇರೆ ಸಂದರ್ಭಗಳ ಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದೆನೋ ಹಾಗೇ ಈ ಬರಹಗಳೂ ಇದ್ದರೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು ಅನ್ನಿಸಿತು - ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜಕೀಯ, ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ, ಆರ್ಥಿಕ - ಯಾವುದೂ ಅಲ್ಲದ ಲೇಖನಗಳಿವೆ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ (ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗೆ ಹೇಳುವುದಾದರೆ), 'ಹಳೇ ವರ್ಷದ ನೆನಪುಗಳು', 'ಡಾ|| ಎಂ. ಶಿವರಾಂ', 'ಒಂಟಿ ಹೃದಯ' ಒಂದಾದಮೇಲೊಂದು ಬಂದು ವಿಸ್ಮಯಗೊಳಿಸುವುದು ನನಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟ. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕವೆನ್ನುವಂತಿದ್ದರೆ, ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ರಾಜಕೀಯವೆನ್ನಿಸುವಂತಿದೆ. ಇಂಥ ಒಂದು ಜೋಡಣೆ-ಲೇಖನಗಳು ಬಂದ ಕಾಲಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇರುವುದು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು. ನಡುನಡುವೆ ಹಲವಾರು ಲೇಖನಗಳು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದರೂ ವಸ್ತುಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಹೋಲಿಕೆ, ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸ ಇಲ್ಲಿಯ ಕಾಲಕ್ರಮದ ಮಂಡನೆಯಿಂದ ಉಳಿದಿದೆ.

ನಮ್ಮ 'ಪತ್ರಿಕೆ' ಮತ್ತು ಈ ಅಂಕಣದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಗುಣವೊಂದನ್ನು ನೀವು ಗಮನಿಸಬೇಕು – ಅಚ್ಚರಿಗೊಂಡ ಮಗುವಿನ ಮನಃಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿದು ಖೇದಗೊಂಡ ಪ್ರಬುದ್ಧನ ತಿಳಿವಿನವರೆಗೆ ಒಳಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದರಿಂದಲೇ ಇವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಸೇರಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಾಣ ಜಾಣೆಯರ ಅನುಭವದಂತೆಯೇ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಪುಟ್ಟ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯೂ ಆಗುತ್ತವೆ. ಈ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಮಗು, ಪ್ರಬುದ್ಧನಂತೆಯೇ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ಒಂದು ಅಂಶ ನೆನಪಿಡಿ. ಮಗು ಎಂದ ಮಾತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾವ ರಿಯಾಯಿತಿಯನ್ನೂ ನಾನು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ: ಪ್ರಬುದ್ಧ ಎಂದ ಮಾತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾವ ಪಾಂಡಿತ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ತೋರುವ ಸೊಕ್ಕು ನನ್ನದಲ್ಲ. ಒಬ್ಬ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಮನುಷ್ಯ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯೊಂದನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸುತ್ತಲೇ ಹುಡುಕಾಡಿದ, ಗೊಂದಲಗೊಂಡ, ಆಗಾಗ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟಗೊಂಡ ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ಪೋಟಗೊಂಡ, ಓದುಗರ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಶ್ವಾಸದಿಂದ ಬೆಳೆಯಲೆತ್ನಿಸಿದ ದಾಖಲೆ ಇವೆಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲಿಯ ಸಿಟ್ಟು, ನೋವು, ಸಂತೋಷ, ಮೌನವೆಲ್ಲ ಈಗ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮುಗುಳ್ನಗೆಯ ಸ್ವಾಗತಕ್ಕೆ ಅರ್ಹ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತೇನೆ.

ಮತ್ತು....ಏನು ಹೇಳಲಿ ? ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡ ಅಥವಾ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡ ಈ ಹತ್ತೂವರೆ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ? ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬರೆಯುವ, ಬದುಕುವ ಹುಮ್ಮಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟ ನನ್ನ ಓದುಗರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ? ಅಥವಾ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂರ್ಯ, ಚಂದ್ರ, ಖನಿಜ, ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವರು, ಖದೀಮರು, ಮೂರ್ಖರು, ನ್ಯಾಯವಂತರು, ಧೀರರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ? ಅಥವಾ ನಾನು ಇವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲ ಬರೆಯದಿದ್ದರೆ ರೂಪಿಸಬಹುದಾಗಿದ್ದ ಕತೆ, ಕವನ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ? ಅದೆಲ್ಲ ಈಗ ಬೇಡ ...'ಮಸಾಲಾ' ಮಾತುಗಳು, ಹಾಗಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಹೀಗಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು ಎಂಬ ಹೈಪಾಥಟಿಕಲ್ ಬೊಗಳೆಗಳು ವ್ಯರ್ಥ. ಹೀಗಾದದ್ದೇ ಸರಿ….
