Atmosphere as Material - I’ve always believed atmosphere is a material in itself, something that can be shaped, suspended, and felt — and flowers, more than anything else, know how to speak it.Autumn has always taught me about color in motion: yellows slipping into browns, reds settling into burnt sienna, entire streets briefly set aglow — and then, unexpectedly, a soft pastel that stays behind. That’s where this piece began. I wanted to translate that warmth, layering, and quiet drama into the air above us — to see what autumn might look like if it could be held. De Vuurwerk is composed of 1,000+ stems, each selected with intention: Nigella Natural Red, Phalaris Yellow, Protea Pendula, Haver Burnt Orange, Hydrangea in rusted reds, Helichrysum Orange, Chardon Red, and more. Bupleurum brings its fine, tensile delicacy; burnt orange Setaria adds softness and volume; autumnal leaves drop through the structure, grounding the cloud like a branch anchors a tree. Together, they form a suspended fire — warm, sculptural, and quietly powerful.
I see this most naturally above a dining table — a place where conversations gather and warmth settles.
