BAKLAVA :-

The name and the origin of the this dessert is disputed. Some believes it is from Istanbul and some says it is Roman dessert.

Baklava is made from crushed / chopped nuts sweetened with Honey and filled inside the thin layers of bread... This bread is called filo which is very much similar to layers in khari or puff (patty)....... Some also believes this dessert is originated from the Persian kitchens due to the suffix Va......

A true foodie doesn't like to get involved into any dispute as long as he / she gets enough of Baklava.........

Balushahi -

Balushahi is a north Indian dessert which looks very much similar to doughnut... SO we can call it our own Desi Doughnut

Made from all purpose flour (Maida), fried in ghee and soaked in sugar syrup... From years the ring is made with hands only.. It is also a very common dessert in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal.

Soan Papdi or Sohan Papdi, is also an Indian sweet made from Gram Flour and Sugar... Other ingredients may vary from area to area. It is decorated with dry fruits like Pista and Badam to give a tempting look.

It is supposed to be originated in Punjab...Some also believe it is from Utter Pradesh.

In different form, it s also called Persian Candy, Sohan Halwa.

Imarati or Emarati which is a very well known and loved urad dal sweet
is originated in India only.

It was invented in Mughal kitchens of Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh.

It is also called Jaangiri / Jhangri / Amriti / Omriti.
