We are thrilled to share our St Brendan the Navigator Festival Programme 2025, 15-18 May, with you! It is fabulous to see the local communities come together to celebrate Kerry's famous seafaring patron saint and our rich maritime heritage.

Thank you to all the local businesses, venues, communities and parishes without whom we couldn't put this festival together. We would also like to thank and acknowledge funding received from Kerry County Council's tourism department towards providing free family events and Kerry County Arts and Creative Ireland for funding our local school outreach project and exhibition "Colour me Brendan".

Last but not least thank you to Hillary Ardfert Printing for her endless patience and for designing our fabulous event planner.

We’ve recently started out on a photography project with George Bastible / . Our target is to capture a variety of photos, styles, moods and tones across a series of shoots that work for George’s business and brand.
If you know George or have worked with him previously you’ll appreciate how the physical fitness journey is supported by a strong psychological and mental outlook. We plan to keep this as a core theme throughout our project, as well as producing additional assets that can promote this message online. Here are some highlights from our first session, taken at Georges Fenit base at Tralee Bay Sailing Club.

tis the season 🎄

The 72nd Annual Christmas Day Swim in Fenit , in aid of Fenit RNLI Lifeboats , takes place at 12 noon as usual . Please give generously !
This is one of the oldest and biggest Christmas Day Swims in the country with c800 in the water and thousands of onlookers ! The event begins with a rendition of Jingle Bells led by Santa Claus and then the traditional 3 charges in to the water .
The weather is looking good and the water temp is hovering around 7c ..quite cold ! The tide will be in so beach space will be at a premium . Just a few tips !
1) Arrive in plenty of time and park sensibly !
2) Stay as warm as you can for as long as you can before the swim !
3) It’s advisable to wear footwear to avoid cutting your feet on stones .
4) Don’t dive directly in to the water !
5)Do not drink alcohol beforehand and for half hour after as it will thin the blood and interfere with warming up .
6)After the swim ,get dried off and dressed in warm layers and a hat immiediatley . Do not stop to talk to people . Have your warm drinks and chats after you are dressed .
7) As always have a great fun day with family and friends !

Tomorrow evening, Thurs Dec 5th, join the Fenit community in the West End to celebrate the launch of By Sea and Shore, a detailed history of Fenit/Spa written by local historian Ciaran Dalton. The book has taken over 3 years to complete and includes the history, folklore and coastal tales of this part of Co.Kerry.
