A New Season at Edible Gardens

We're very excited about the upcoming season and the new plants we'll be introducing to the Irish market. As our nursery continues to grow, we've made a few changes to help us work more sustainably and efficiently while continuing to provide you with the best possible service.

Our Commitment to Sustainability
Wherever possible, we'll be supplying bare-root trees instead of potted trees. This significantly reduces the use of plastic pots and helps conserve water during production.
We've also replaced plastic ties on our staked trees with cotton string. Although this takes more time and costs us more, we're committed to reducing our reliance on single-use plastics wherever we can.

Click & Collect
We're introducing a Click & Collect service this season. Collections will take place in Kilkenny on pre-arranged dates and times that we'll announce in advance.
Unfortunately, we won't be able to offer collections from the nursery itself, as this would take too much time away from running the nursery.

Ordering & Payments
To help us process orders efficiently, all plant purchases must be paid for through our website before plants are shipped or made available for collection.

Rootstock
All Rootstock need to ordered by the end of December.
We cannot facilitate any requests for rootstock after this time

Courses
If you're booking one of our courses, please make sure you're available on the scheduled date before booking.
If you can't attend, you're very welcome to send someone in your place. However, course fees are non-refundable, and we cannot accept payment on the day. All courses must be paid for in advance to secure your place.

We understand that some of these changes may not suit everyone, but they're important steps in helping us streamline the nursery and manage the increasing workload, while continuing to provide quality plants and service.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support—it truly means a great deal to us.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch at [email protected].

Great results from one of the participants of the Edible Gardens Pear and Apple Grafting course in 2026.

The first two pictures are Apple variety Orleans Reinette and the third picture is Commice Pear.

This participant now has the skill to graft any fruit tree they wish.

What a great skill to have.

We will be releasing more courses for the 2027 season and can also bring these courses to your property.
