We’re delighted to be collaborating with The Shed Distillery for a special Gin Botanicals Embroidery Workshop!

Spend a relaxed evening stitching beautiful gin-inspired botanicals onto your very own CycleUp tote bag, handmade from discarded materials. 🌿🪡

You’ll learn simple embroidery techniques, create something completely unique and, best of all, take your finished upcycled tote bag home with you at the end of the evening.

Looking for the perfect cosy addition to your home this autumn? Here’s your chance to win this beautiful handcrafted patchwork pouffe, made right here at CycleUp.

Created by our talented maker Derek, every pouffe is completely unique. The colourful patchwork is made from discarded upholstery fabric swatches donated by a sofa manufacturer, while the filling is made from reclaimed foam and textile offcuts that would otherwise have gone to waste.

It’s circular design at its best – beautiful, practical and keeping valuable materials out of landfill.

🧵 Ready to take your sewing skills to the next level?

Our Level 2 Upcycling Training Course is designed for people who already have intermediate sewing skills and feel confident using a sewing machine. Over six weeks, you’ll learn new upcycling techniques and develop the skills to create more detailed and complex pieces from discarded textiles.

📢 We’re hiring in Athleague!

Roscommon Women’s Network has a Community Employment opportunity for an Administrative Assistant/Receptionist at the Riverside Centre, Athleague, home to our CycleUp Textiles production studio and training centre.

This is a varied role that includes:

✅ Welcoming visitors and answering phone queries
✅ Taking messages and providing general administrative support
✅ Processing and recording sales
✅ Creating invoices and purchase orders
✅ Updating the website and product records
✅ Helping to prepare the space for sewing and upcycling workshops
✅ Keeping shared areas clean, organised and welcoming
✅ Occasional cover in our Roscommon Town shop or at local events

The position is for 19.5 hours per week, with flexibility around how the hours are arranged.

This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to gain experience in administration, reception, customer service, retail and social enterprise while working as part of a friendly and supportive team.

Eligibility for Community Employment is generally linked to being aged 21 or over and receiving a qualifying social welfare payment for at least one year. Different eligibility conditions may apply to certain groups, and all applicants must have their eligibility confirmed by the Department of Social Protection.
