This is it guys and gals, what could be the final Celtic Con in Portlaoise.
Needless to say a massive turnout might help to sway things back but only if you really want to keep it going, otherwise it may just fade away.
When I started Celtic Con in 2016 to hold the 1st in June 2017 it was exciting to try and bring my love of comic books and the wider genre to our local area and grow it, the first 2 cons were awesome, we had fantastic guests and a great togetherness, esepecially from all the team, big thanks to the then O'Loughlins Hotel for staging both and accomodating our guests, a great service.
"Thanks for the patience" Times were lets say a tad different pre lockdown era so lets bring back the fun this Saturday.
A big shout out to Ashley Curran who ran the first 2 cons alongside myself, a very talented and bright young family man.
And then there's Dave Butler without whom the con would have gone into hiatus for 2019, we closed the doors of Celtic Comics for the final time and with a heavy heart I had too much on my plate to deal with so Dave came to the rescue and kept the ship afloat with great support from Anne Balfe ( get well soon Anne ). So that's it really, here we are again asking for you all to come out at least one more time to say hello to the old ships crew.
This will be the cons 4th time at the Dunamaise Theatre in Portlaoise where its been home for Celtic Con since 2019. Big shout to everyone involved and best of luck for this year.
Martin.
