FISHING & SHOOTING. That was some few hours of rain today,but looking good for tomorrow and nice evening in Springfield now. Looking forward to getting back out tomorrow with a pal not sure venue but all loaded and ready. Plus nice few Snipe preped and ready for lunch on the lake. Got call today looks like bit Crop protection soon & few Pigeons will be on the menu. The prep shed come Man shed looking great,when Sylvia got me away fishing done some clean up job. The Guinness on counter is to mix with Dog food,just to give them more Iron.

OWEL TODAY & FRIDAY IS FISH DAY. The day started of on Owel nice & dry but few big showers drifted in from lunchtime. Got few hits on Lures and nice few fillets for tomorrow as Friday is fish day. Lunch on Church Island and it's gone very overgrown as norm this time of year. Tomorrow looks a total wash out with rain,but we see what morning brings,weekend looks ok. LENE TODAY/SALMO & BACON. Another hard few hours on Lene today trolling & spinning,and just the one Rainbow on my top Salmo lure. Not a sign of trout pitching or breaking surface & no fly life that i seen. Bit hungry when I got home to Springfield & you just cant beat Spuds & BACON. Looks like rain on the way pity as every year Sylvia's Rose bush and Lillie's bloom heavy rain and wind hammers them. Not that I am into Flower Power but nice see bit colour in yard. LENE TODAY & JIMMY CORROON HITS 60TH . Lovely few hours on Lene with pal Frank McKeown but not a sign of a fish and little or no fly life,just one hit on lures. Great night in Bridge Bar last night supprize party for Jimmy Corroon well knowen Irish Soccer fan and local dart player. Best luck tomorrow to Westmeath taking on Galway in the football. I am Out & About tomorrow in Mullingar to catch a few Westmeath supporters watching game in town. Keep eye out in Westmeath Topic Out & About page for all the pics from Jimmy Corroon party night.

OWEL "2" BLUSTERY / BROSNA CRACKERS. Owel was just to Blustery and when i stuck the nose of boat out from Srudarra Island got whipped around and facing back to Tullaghan. On way back down someone put Wellie on Tree, very catchy pic. Left N52 Boat back in yard and headed up the River Brosna at back of house,where the Angling bug got hold of me. Savage few hours spinning with my little Kinetic Warlord Rod and Prologic Reel i picked up in Wild Total Outdoors some year back,a dream team for walking nice & light. I had loads of action on spinners catching 5 trout and loosing as many plus loads of follows, plus the small Perch that arrive every summer on one stretch were their in numbers. I was supprized to see so many fish,the Costa glasses my Italian pal Stefano gave me lit up river. It was hard going and still feeling the stings from the nettles on my arms. I hope the wind drops and I head to Lene tomorrow with Angling pal,if not another stretch of river on the cards. Midland Angling Guides / 087-2797270. E-mail . [email protected].

ANGLING / THE MEDIA WORLD & CAMERA FLASH HEAD. Nasty wet windy day and bit the Bullet,spent day cleaning Office. Old Mac ready to go back on line & all my pics & features from Topic Newspapers,Sunday World,Star,Irish Angler & Pike & Preadator will be looked into by one of the Topic Newspapers team. Never deleated a picture since 14th March 2002 when I started in the Media World. PS.Came across old Flash Heads if any use to anyone. All going well back fishing tomorrow.
