Moycullen Bookshop Moycullen Village Bookshop is an independent bookshop located in Moycullen, County Galway. We are happy to order any item we don't have in stock.

We offer a wide range of books for adults, teenagers and children along with toys, arts & craft materials, stationery, school and office supplies, schoolbooks, greeting cards, maps and gifts. We strive to provide our customers with everything they need in the line of books, maps, stationery, toys, art and craft materials. As the only bookshop in Connemara selling school books we try our hardest to ensure we have books in store for all the local schools.

** CLEARANCE SALE !!! **

Sadly, Moycullen Bookshop will be closing down at the end of the month. We don't have the words right now to express how grateful we are to this wonderful village and everyone in it for making this past 21 years so special.

We'll be back with a proper farewell but for now, this is just a quick note to let everyone know that up until we close, everything in the shop will be up to 50% off.

Looking forward to seeing you all over the next week to catch up and have a chat. Thank you all so much for your support & kindness over the years - it meant the world.

Lots of new toys in recently which would make perfect presents, including lots of ideal stocking fillers 🎁

Two favourites of ours are the Djeco puzzles & toys and the Top Model range of sticker & colouring books 😃

Djeco have a selection of puzzles and wooden toys suitable for ages 10 months and up, all with beautiful designs and made to last 😊

The Top Model range has been a favourite for years and is as popular as ever. We have a huge range of their colouring and sticker books, from unicorns and baking to journals & fashion, there's something for all ages ☺️

** Local Authors !! **

We're incredibly lucky to be surrounded by so many talented writers both here in Moycullen and in Galway in general 😊

We recently had a whole range of beautiful books delivered by their authors, from colouring books for grown-ups to Connemara trout fishing.

Geraldine Mills was in to sign her latest poetry collection, 'Survival Games'.

Then we had Peter Gargan in to sign his books on Connemara sea-trout fisheries.

Next in was William Henry with his latest book, a fascinating collection of pictures and stories all about the Galway market.

Then most recently we were visited by two Italian authors who are delighted to call Galway home. Chiara Mattozzi came in to sign copies of her first foray into fantasy, 'The Raven And The Rose - The Witch'. Lady Margaret Maguire brought us her gratitude journal and her colouring books for adults, full of beautiful landscape scenes to colour in.

**Exciting News !!**

Over the past year, the wonderful people at Mi amor Salsas have been hard at work creating and refining their delicious salsas 🥑🌶🍋‍🟩

We were honoured to play a small role in the testing and tasting stage, which basically involves eating lots of delicious salsas 😂

We got our first delivery of their gorgeous gift boxes last week and they were sold out before we even had time to tell everyone about them 😄

Well we're delighted to say they're now back in stock and available in-store at €20 for the giftbox with all three salsas:

Cheeky Green - Fresh and chunky made with ialapeños coriander and lime in a traditional molcajete style

Slow Fire - Traditional home style made with Tomatillos. This red salsa is all about slow building heat and bold flavours.

Hot Crush - Rich orange salsa made with Árbol chillies is creamy, smoky and spicy but mellow enough to use on everything!

** Local Author!! **

We were paid a visit recently by local poet & photographer Julia Monard, who dropped in and signed a few copies of her gorgeous book 'The Becoming' 😊

Filled with verses & images both striking & serene, it's a multimedia volume that would be appreciated by any lover of bold & beautiful art. Our favourite piece is a poem called 'Winter', which is a perfect example of the layers of complexity in her writing.

Moycullen and Galway in general is rich with creative talents but it's always exciting to see new ones emerge and succeed ☺️

We'll have more local authors in in the coming weeks as well as one or two giveaways and another art competition, so stay tuned for more information 😁

We had so many terrific & terrifying entries to our Halloween art competition that we've ended up picking 6 main winners and a few mini-winners 😁

** New Irish-Made Scarves !! **

It's always great to support Irish makers and especially so when they make stunning scarves like McNutt weavers in Donegal 😄

We've just had a delivery of some beautiful lambswool scarves in a range of colours and designs to suit all tastes 😊

We're still ordering for Christmas so if there's anything you'd like us to get in, please let us know and we'll do our very best ☺️
