SEASPIRACY
Some of you may have recently watched the Netflix Documentary, revealing just how at risk our oceans and marine life are!
I’ve seen lots of people talking about how they will no longer be eating fish, becoming more aware about the plastics they use and wanting to take positive steps towards helping to save our planet!
But have you taken a look at the products you are washing your face with… and ultimately rinsing down your plughole and into our oceans?
There are a multitude of toxic ingredients still being used in our everyday personal care products that are upsetting marine eco systems and polluting the world’s oceans!
Rinse-off toxins are continuously being released into the aquatic environment and with personal care products like shampoos and face washes being a household essential, you can imagine the scale in which these toxins are making their way down our drains.
These toxins cannot be broken down in our water waste treatment plants and many make their way into marine environments, causing aquatic toxicity, harming marine life and the ecosystem balance.
You’ve probably heard us talking about how passionate Acti-Labs are about protecting our environment; from our solar powered laboratories, recyclable packaging and eco refills… and of course, cruelty free.
But did you know we take it one step further when it comes to our rinseable products?
Every single one of our rinseable products are tested for both biodegradability & toxicology. Meaning, if it goes down a plug hole, we send it to be tested to make sure it’s biodegradable, without causing damage to the Ecosystem!
This isn’t “New News” either, it’s been standard practice for us as a brand for many years, and as far as we’re aware… we are the only ones to go that extra mile.
So if, like me, you watched that documentary and are now ready to play your part in helping our planet and saving our oceans, take a look at your bathroom shelf, whilst your hair and skin maybe squeaky clean… is your conscience?
