〰️ Branding for Just Jenny’s Personal Training / business launch 〰️⁣

I had so much fun working on this design for Jenny just in time for her launch of personal training services! She was so lovely to work with, and after a few small questions I completely got what she needed. We wanted to come up with something true to her and something a little out of the norm for active related designs. ⁣I sent her a moodboard and a few logo concepts that spoke to her customer base but stayed true to her personality, and also my personal sense of design.
⁣
I got my inspiration from how important movement is to Jenny’s business, and came up with something that draws attention to motion.⁣
⁣

I’m going to let you in on a secret...⁣

✨I’m launching an Etsy store!✨⁣

My store will be filled with digital products, including logo designs (such as this one), where you will be able to purchase your dream branding for your business.⁣
⁣
I’ll have pre-made designs up for grabs. Once you purchase, you will be prompted to tell me what text amendments you need, and I will also be adjusting the colours to suit your brand. Depending on your needs this could take 2-3 days.⁣
⁣
It has happened to me before, where I’ve been really happy with my colour palette, but my logo just isn’t aligned to me anymore. Sometimes, I would look at others logo designs and just wish mine looked like that.⁣

I’m here to help with that! If you ever feel that way about my designs...I’m giving you the chance to buy them. 👀✨⁣

🙋🏼‍♀️Some of you may have seen me say (a little while ago) that I was going to be changing things up a little bit.⁣⁣

This style of illustration probably hasn’t been shared on my account before, but I’m really liking it and I’ve always wanted to try this art style. It’s kind of similar to vector work. It’s a bit minimal and a bit more abstract. ⁣⁣

Also I’m using a slightly more muted and neutral colour palette! I love the big bright colours but I also live in beige so I’ll be sharing a bit more of this. 🤍⁣⁣

✨ So you have your dream logo, that’s it, and you’re good to go, right? Not always.⠀
⠀
You should never just get a logo by itself. You should get a submark, and/or creative illustrations that compliment your logo. HERE’S WHY…⠀
⠀
Logos with many elements are not always suitable for printing, emails, situations where the image will appear small, business cards, Instagram profile picture or icons, watermarks, or many other scenarios. ⠀
Many logos include certain pictures or details that can be difficult to maintain quality on small business cards, leaflets, or packaging, etc.⠀
A paired back version, or a “submark” is essential to give you and your business ease of access. It doesn’t mean you’re not cohesive. Your designer will bring this to life the right way.⠀
Additional elements or more details can help draw attention to your brand and make you stand out, when used at the right time.⠀
You should always ask for a little variety so you can choose the right moment to use the right design.⠀

THE MINIMAL LOOK;⠀
⠀
✨ If the image is going to appear small, you should go with the top illustration you see in this post i.e. the minimal, non-fussy look. You should also use this version when you need to be precise and to the point, e.g. in the body of an email when talking to clients or brands. Alot of people have limited processing patience, some of you might be feeling that about this caption! That’s how some people process detailed imagery, and those people might just be valuable to your business. We’re bombarded with imagery through our screens everyday! Make sure you come up looking sleek and uncomplicated. ⠀

WHEN TO GET FUNKY;⠀
⠀
✨ You can share your less minimal versions, or your fully designed logo with all its elements and additions in; your media pack or portfolio, your Instagram posts/stories, your online art gallery, your website, your blog, advertising, TV, professional art display prints, etc. Basically, anywhere where the size will be optimised for all those intricate and cute details.⠀

To be honest, I love such a mixture of things. I literally like too many things. Even after finishing this I had to stop myself from editing it and adding more, ha.⠀

Just wanted to take the opportunity to thank all 1,000 (+) of you! At the end of the day, numbers are just numbers. Especially during this time, there’s many different things to be thinking about. But when it relates to a platform where you get to share your creativity, artwork, business, and moments of being a little too obsessed with nice packaging (👀), then I’m so happy to have you all on board. A little while ago, I was so nervous to even start this account and I didn’t tell anyone about it for ages. I remember being so amazed when the first 20 people followed me (that didn’t know me personally). So, I’m going to have a little celebratory “me” moment, and that’s okay.⠀

It’s been a long time coming, but I’ve finally created my dream logo. For me, this is what I’ve been missing. Every time I drew something I knew what I loved to draw, but I struggled to stay consistent/cohesive at times. Now I know what visual direction I want to stick with.⠀

No matter what your business is, or what you do online, if you’re a blogger, an illustrator/designer, a coach, etc. a strong logo will help you communicate your personality. It will help give you a bit of visual guidance too. Plus, it feels good to look at your name and feel official. 🤓⠀

✨ Where do I start? ✨⠀
I follow 4 steps when creating a logo;⠀
⠀
1. RESEARCH // INSPIRATION⠀
2. SKETCHES // PHOTOS⠀
3. DESIGN⠀
4. VARIATIONS // COMPARE // TRIAL⠀
⠀
⠀
👀❓💻Ask yourself questions about your biz, and challenge yourself to understand your brand’s mission/ blogging style / unique services. ⠀
⠀
💡⚡️Inspiration can be anything from browsing Pinterest, to examining other logos that you’ve seen. Look at your own feed for recurring themes, or be inspired by others.⠀
⠀
✏️📒Sketch everything that comes to your mind, or write it all down. Mock sketches are so important, you’ll be surprised what good things come out of bad designs. And most of the time, your first few sketches won’t be your best ideas. Use photos that you found, or ones you took, to help you understand composition, and what can look good together.⠀
⠀
🎨🎉Now we design. This part is something you either can do // do for a living, or simply struggle with. This part takes time, effort, and skill.

✖️❓✔️I normally have more than one document of the same logo, with a few variations between each one. This could mean that each one has a different composition, or variation on the colours, etc. Compare your logo to how it will look on your profile/feed. Trial the design on social media, a website, blog, etc. before it goes live.⠀⠀
