Our latest bi-monthly award for March-April 2026 has gone to Klaud9 at 26 Thomas Street. Pictured outside the café receiving the award from Maura O’Neill of Limerick City Tidy Towns are owners Klaudia Chciuk and Ysabel Nelson (Photo: Adrian Butler/Limerick Leader)

We have long admired this charming little coffee shop on Thomas Street, with its gorgeous hand-painted external signage and outdoor seating, and its sustainable use of upcycled previously loved furniture and crockery inside. We would most certainly have given the café an award before now but for its proximity to previous award winners on the street so are delighted to acknowledge them now.

Since first opening in 2022, Klaud9 has become known for its cozy atmosphere, friendly service and unique décor, and has attracted a loyal customer base. The café is pet-friendly, offering a welcoming space for both humans and their furry friends. Customers have praised the quality of the coffee, with many noting it as some of the best in town. The owners’ genuine warmth and welcome make Klaud9 the ideal spot for a relaxing coffee break without being rushed. It even offers a book nook for those who want to sit and read while enjoying their coffee. For more information you can find them on Instagram or better still, call in to enjoy the experience.

Klaud9 is our second bi-monthly winner for 2026, and joins Realta who won in Jan-Feb. Please contact us if you wish to nominate any businesses or properties in the city centre for future awards.

The heat is on.

We have the right to see what is being said by our Elected Officials in the Limerick City Council

The Mayor of Limerick bids to ensure that council proceedings can be downloaded

Hopefully the Fíanna Fail Cllrs will allow this, why wouldn't you ?

18/02/2026

If our Mayor wanted to build 1000 homes in Limerick tommrow lets say, you would have the acting dictators of Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael objecting to it. This 2 party majority Council should be ashamed of itself for playing politics. If he ran and won on Fianna Fáil this wouldn't be the case.

What ever you're opinion is on Mayor John Moran, please listen in at the Council meeting it is pure shambles the way they treat the man.
This is Bitter and horrible, it needs calling out!!!

The Council should work together and stop this crap, we have enough problems in Limerick that need fixing

The rest of our good elected Cllrs are trying so hard to get stuff done with John Moran but Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael are making it so difficult.

Stop it now ffs
