Meet Helen Ridgard, Manager of the The Sunflower Shop in Kilmacthomas, Helen is one of our loyal supporters donating annually to Waterford Hospice since 2010 🙏

The The Sunflower Shop was set up originally to fill a gap identified by Helen and her Mother for volunteer jobs locally. They realised if you lived in Kilmacthomas and wanted to volunteer you would have to travel to Waterford or Dungarvan. Now Helen's charity shop not only creates volunteer jobs but also provides a place in the community for people to meet up and chat and you are guaranteed to leave with something!!

Our Story

The Sunfower Shop started as a Charity Shop for Waterford Hospice in 2012 and has now evolved into a Social Enterprise called The Kilmacthomas Sunflower Support Network. The KSSN is a Company with Limited Guarantee formed in 2018 and is a non-profit organisation with all proceeds being donated to Waterford Hospice. The KSSN offers a professional counselling service in the Village of Kilmacthomas and is a rural Community hub where people can come to network and chat in a friendly easygoing environment.
