It is with mixed emotions that I have made the decision to close Stone House Books early in 2018.
Christmas is the pinnacle of every bookseller's year, and having finished on a high I felt it was the right time, after over 40 years in this wonderful industry.
To my suppliers, my fellow booksellers, friends, followers and above all my customers both at home and abroad: you have been amazing. My sincerest thanks for your unfailing support and loyalty over the years. I hope you've enjoyed calling into Stone House, not just for your books but also for the chat, the laughs and the recommendations - in short, those extras that made this such a satisfying and enriching career.
We hosted many events and launches. To the many authors who passed through the doors, a big thank you.
To the staff who started out with me over the years, I hope you can look back with happy memories and realise the contribution you made to the success of Stone House Books.
To my current staff Laura and Aine: your loyalty, support, knowledge and friendship have been unfailing. I wish you every success and happiness in your careers.
To my incredible neighbours in Kieran Street: I will miss our vibrant community. A very special mention to my close neighbours Murt and Mary Crotty of Crotty's Cafe, who have given me tremendous support (literally). I couldn't have hosted so many seated events without your unfailing supply of chairs and myriad top-ups of coffee!
Hoping this is not the end, but rather the start of an exciting new chapter.
Love,
Liz.
