Don’t miss your chance to meet one of the excellent makers involved at the Design Ireland x Arnotts Department Store pop up Serena from SnugiBabog who will be in attendance this Saturday on 16th August, from 12pm-4pm.

Snugí Knitwear, founded in Dublin in 2020 by Serena Grimes, creates sustainable, Irish-made knitwear using ethically sourced Donegal merino, super-fine Italian merino, and Kilcarra Aran Tweed. Committed to slow fashion, the brand produces timeless, gender-neutral designs with eco-friendly, low-impact methods and compostable packaging. Recognised for quality and sustainability, Snugí has won multiple awards, including Best Product at Showcase in 2022 and 2023 and the 2023 Irish Made Awards Kids Category.

Melissa Curry of Melissa Curry Design; Susanne Clark of Clarke's of Dublin and Elaine Kellegher of LaineyK Prints Will be in attendance at the Design Ireland x Arnotts Department Store pop-up this Saturday at 9th August.

From 2-4pm Suzanne is doing a demo on her bath soaks along with offering 10 complementary bath soaks. Melissa will be there 2pm-5pm, she will give a dog bracelet to the first three visitors who come in and visit her and finally Elaine will be there 12.30pm - 4.30pm.

Founded in 2016 by Elaine Kellegher, LAINEY K grew from her love of typography, illustration, and design into a range of cards and art prints sold across Ireland and beyond. Starting from scratch, Elaine describes the journey as exciting, challenging, and rewarding, encouraging others to follow their dreams and “fail better.”

Melissa Curry is a Dublin-based international designer known for bold, uplifting accessories and innovative collaborations with brands like Liberty of London, Swarovski, and Virgin. Her work spans jewellery, sustainability, and travel retail, including award-nominated designs for Virgin Voyages. She also runs PÓG, a gift-led jewellery brand inspired by Irish heritage, available in Ireland and the U.S.

Clarke’s of Dublin is a luxury Irish brand by artist and sculptor Suzanne Clarke, created in honour of her great-grandfather Philip Clarke, who died in the 1916 Rising. Fusing artistry with nature, Suzanne crafts award-winning handmade soaps, shaving products, candles, and bath soaks, using locally sourced ingredients such as seaweed, goat’s milk, and Atlantic sea salt. Each piece reflects a passion for quality, creativity, and a proud connection to Irish heritage.

Meet Clare of Clare O Connor. Clare is taking part in the Design Ireland pop-up Arnotts Department Store and will be in store on Saturday August 2nd to show customers how to style their scarves.

Clare O'Connor is an award-winning Irish artist and designer known for her vibrant abstract paintings and wearable art brand. She creates dynamic, multi-layered works that explore subconscious symbolism, energetic movement, and personal empowerment through bold colour, form, and intuitive expression.

Meet Ruth of DANU Designer Ceramics and Amy of Øxmantown Skincare. These are two of the makers taking part in the Design Ireland pop-up Arnotts Department Store and they will be in store this Saturday July 12th. From 12pm - 2pm Amy will be doing skin profiling, helping customers analyse their skin type and determine which products suit them. From 2pm - 5pm Ruth will be demonstrating how she makes her Irish nature-inspired porcelain and gold jewellery.

Ruth is the founder of DANU Ceramics, a Dublin-based studio she launched in 2015 after graduating from NCAD. She handcrafts unique pieces using techniques like slab work, hand-building, and glass fusion, often incorporating materials like 22 karat gold and mother of pearl. Recently, Ruth has begun curating artisan-made pieces from around the world, including jewellery from Afghanistan, Brazilian agate, and handmade ornaments from UN-supported refugee initiatives.

Based in Stoneybatter, Dublin, Oxmantown skincare specialises in environmentally-friendly products handcrafted in small batches. Using only the highest quality botanical ingredients, each formula is chosen for its proven therapeutic benefits to heal, restore, and rejuvenate the skin. Meet Suzanne Clarke of Clarke's of Dublin and Bláithín Ennis of Bláithín Ennis Jewellery. Both makers are taking part in the Design Ireland pop-up Arnotts Department Store. This Saturday 5th July they will be in store hosting demonstrations and meeting customers, Suzanne will be making bespoke bath soaks on the day of the pop-up, creating up to 10 custom blends in front of customers.

Clarke’s of Dublin is a luxury Irish brand founded by Suzanne Clarke, inspired by her great-grandfather Philip Clarke, who died in the 1916 Rising. Meet Fred O'Mahony alongside Sarah Carroll-Kelly of Shock Of Grey Jewellery. These excellent makers are taking part in the Design Ireland pop-up at Arnotts Department Store. This Saturday 14th June from 10am Fred O’Mahony will be available to meet customers with Sarah Carroll-Kelly.

Fred is an experienced woodturner with over 25 years of craftsmanship, creating innovative, handcrafted homeware, tableware, and gifts from Irish native hardwoods. Each piece is carefully selected and finished to highlight the wood’s natural beauty. Based in a studio overlooking the River Suir in Co. Waterford, Fred draws inspiration from the surrounding countryside. His work has been showcased on RTÉ Nationwide and at major craft events like the RDS Dublin and Lewis Glucksman Gallery.

Sarah Carroll Kelly is the founder and designer of Shock of Grey, an award-winning sustainable statement jewellery brand known for its playful, bright, vibrant, and meticulously crafted pieces. Launched during the COVID-19 lockdown after major life changes, Sarah transitioned from a full-time creative job to focus entirely on jewellery-making. Her designs are stocked in over 50 stores across Ireland, the UK, USA, Germany, and Canada, including the Museum of Contemporary Art in New York and IMMA in Dublin.

Meet Betzy Nina of Sandia Dublin. This Saturday 7th June 2025, Betzy will be in Arnotts Department Store from 11am to meet customers and will host a live demonstration of paint-dipped jewellery.

Sandia Dublin, created in 2017, is an award winning jewellery brand founded by Venezuelan artist Betzy Nina. Using unconventional materials such as expanded rubber, wood, resin, glass and metals, Sandia Dublin has an authentic pioneering way of creating signature pieces. Betzy Nina is captivated by the retro colours and shapes found within the fashion and interior design industries.

"I'd start by picking colours that I'd like to use in a collection and then choose which materials to use to compliment it. Sometimes I'd visit a vintage furniture shop and get inspired by shapes, textures and colours, some ideas would also come to me after watching an architecture or interior design show".

Meet Clare O’Connor of Clare O Connor & Serena Grimes of SnugiBabog two of the makers that are taking part in the Design Ireland pop-up Arnotts Department Store.

Clare O’Connor is an award-winning multi-disciplinary artist and designer. A graduate of IADT, she transitioned from graphic design to fine art, specialising in painting, printmaking, and photography. She has worked at the Venice Biennale and exhibited in Ireland, Europe, the USA, and China.

Snugi Knitwear creates baby clothes, accessories, and dog jumpers in Ireland, crafted by skilled knitters using ethically sourced wool from a Donegal mill. Combining tradition with timeless design, each piece is made to last and be cherished for generations.

Both will be in store Saturday 24th May to give demonstrations. Serena will be demonstrating her embroidery work, showcasing hand-stitched personalisation and Clare will be painting live in-store to demonstrate her creative process.

Meet Amanda Vencatasamy of Hey, Bulldog! Design, alongside Gemma O’Leary of Inner Island. These excellent makers are taking part in the Design Ireland pop-up Arnotts Department Store. This Saturday 3rd May from 12 – 4pm Gemma & Amanda will be in store giving demonstrations.

Amanda has a degree in Fine Art (Sculpture) and studied both at Camberwell College of Arts and National College of Art and Design. Form, colour, home and belonging are central themes in her work. Amanda is a British Artist, born to Mauritian parents. She has now been living in Ireland for nearly 20 years.⁠

INNER ISLAND was founded in April 2015 by jeweller Gemma O’Leary. Her journey into jewellery-making began with a series of courses and internships across Canada, Scotland, and Dublin, where she developed the skills and expertise to turn her creative vision into reality. With a strong foundation in craftsmanship, Gemma launched her own brand with a focus on timeless design and lasting quality. The name INNER ISLAND reflects the belief that within each of us lies a quiet, essential self, something to be nurtured, protected, and celebrated.
