You may have heard our announcement yesterday evening on Community Radio Kilkenny City.
Hennessy Sports, founded in 1977 by the late, great Eamon Hennessy, has proudly served the people of Kilkenny and beyond for nearly five decades. The business was later successfully run by Frank and Eileen Morrissey, whose dedication helped shape the store into a trusted local institution.
Today, Hennessy Sports continues under the stewardship of Niall Morrissey, carrying forward the tradition of quality, community, and service.
Over the years, our shop has moved through several locations - from Parliament Street to Newpark Shopping Centre - adapting to the needs of our customers and the changing retail landscape. With the continued evolution of the sports retail market, we have made an important business decision to focus and specialise our services.

This is an area of the business that we have a half century of experience in and one in which we have built up a network of many great manufacturers, suppliers and customers. This change will enable us to offer greater focus, efficiency and quality for our longstanding customers and new customers alike.
We will proudly continue to serve every sport nationally, including:
Running, GAA, Soccer, Handball, Irish dancing, Golf, and many many more.
