18/12/2020

Our brand new online shop went live this week, we hope you come check it out. You'll find a variety of products that I produce, from jewellery to ornaments and large art glass spheres to functional glassware.
We also offer lessons in torchworked glass blowing for beginners. All the information can be found on our brand new website so please come and have a look. I'd like to extend a very special thank you to Martin Naughton for setting up my fantastic website and the encouragement to get the site off the ground, it wouldn't have happened without him, so thank you!

Did you know we have five species of sea turtles that visit Irish waters. They don't come ashore but spend their time feeding, mostly on jellyfish, in deeper waters.

St Nicholas's market is so much more beautiful in the dark, what do ye think? I should have taken some shots from the other end too, but ye know what they say about hindsight... not worth the paper it isn't printed on!
It's more than worth braving the cold to check us out, we're only doing 12 to 15 hours outside a day so we're uses to it, but I promise it won't rain till after Xmas again, if it does feel free to come down n give me a telling off!!! Im no meteorologist, just an optimist( for the new two days anyway) But make sure to pop on down or you'll be missing out!
Only two more trading days left for us😲, were trading right up to Christmas eve. So get yer asses in gear people, stocks are starting to run lowish, so this might b your last chance to find that something special 4 that someone special. You can expect all the usual, unusual and crazy art and crafts, everything from woolly hats, cozy socks, h**p hoodies n warm clothes. Locally hand made ceramics, enamel, silver, wooden and glass jewellery, wooden spoons, bog oak mounted clocks, wooden sculpture and just about anything that can be made of a manipulatable material is to b had and all sorts of other special nick nacks and treasures besides even fairies and fairy domiciles.
You'll find a talented crafter behind every stall and the best thing is you can ask them all the questions you want and find our more about our work, our techniques and the stories behind them, and just about any other questons so you could have. We're mostly all happy to explain our work to you except the odd grumpy one n there aren't many of them, haha(joking) were a friendly bunch. Except me when i havn't had enough sleep 😊
Tomorrow the vegetable traders will also be in as well as a tasty selection of delicious hot food, glass art, that's me hehe, cacti and unusual plants and all sorts. My apologies if I left anything/one out, its late...! And I need me sleep or ill definitely b the grumpy one 2moro for sure! 😅
Don't miss out, Galway market(the real one that is, by st.Nicks) is my favourite place In town and If you pop down for a look you'll find out why for youself.
Ohh and did I mention we only have two days left b4 Xmas, so don't miss out! I know i did say it earlier but some things are definitely worth a second mention! Are you in need of an unusual or special Christmas gift? This is the only place to go! Besides we've pulled out every possible stop to make this the best an most unique Xmas market not just in Galway, but the entire country.

So see ye all there! Or be square! 🙄😃😂😅😄

See what late night posting does to my quality of writing? I've never used more than 1 emoji in a message and that only about 5 or 6 times ever. Not thay emojis are writing! So pardon all the random yellow smilies n random laughing faces. Trying to experiment with them this eve and think I had too much fun with them! Will be the last time l promise! 🙄 (except that one there!)

See you all at the market. Two last days of fun, food, craft, cacti and of course great company left!!! I better see everyone there because I'll be keeping attendance !

Some implosion too, the technique sounds more exciting than it is, though it's still my favourite tech.

Had to make some jellyfish/coral reef marbles too of course. I want you make some dolphins this week coming, but am not sure how to make them stand up? I'm not sure I could make a decent looking wave without some practice, any suggestions would be great. The last time I had a hole drilled in a rock to display one. I'm looking for a simpler solution, bog oak would be lovely but would make the piece too expensive i think. Maybe I'll stick to the marbles fof now. A week b4 the Christmas market starts is hardly a good time for too much experimentation.

I got to spend all last week making marbles, me fave! Yeah! They turned out alright I think. Pity about the shine on the surface, makes taking pics awkward. Going for some galaxyesque imagery with silver, a little gold, the odd tektite and a couple of opals with these.
