This large building opened its doors as the Railway Hotel in 1852.
Both it and the Railway Station behind it were designed by the well-known Irish architect, John Skipton Mulvany, architect to the Midland and Great Western Railway Company.
Fr Peter Daly was responsible for its building as he owned the land. Unfortunately he evicted his tenants who lived in small houses there.
Also note the railings enclosing Eyre Square, these were removed in the 20th century but subsequently re-erected around the perimeter of the graveyard surrounding St. Nicholas' Church to make the city's 500th anniversary celebrations in 1984.
Now home to The Hardiman Hotel in Eyre Square.
